AgelessRx wins $1M XPRIZE grant to fund longevity trial

Why now? AgelessRx earned its place after completing a 90-day randomised, placebo-controlled pilot study. The study enrolled 26 adults aged 60–80 at risk of age-related decline, with 18 included in the final analysis.

What's next? AgelessRx plans a fully powered, one-year randomised controlled trial of roughly 186 adults aged 50–90, running between 2026 and 2029. The University of Utah Data Coordinating Center will handle trial and data management, while the University of California, San Diego Stein Institute for Research on Aging will coordinate laboratories, biomarkers and biological-sample storage.

The signal: XPRIZE Healthspan is a seven-year competition to develop therapeutics that restore muscle, cognition and immune function, extending healthy life in adults aged 50–90 by at least 10 years within one year of treatment. The grand prize could reach $81 million in 2030.
