What's the endgame? LogiXair is targeting sub-600km routes between metros and Tier II and Tier III cities. Its planned cargo aircraft is designed to carry up to 300kg over 600km — moving freight without roads, rail, or conventional airports.
Why now? The startup is aiming at a persistent gap in India's logistics network: fast, reliable delivery to regions where traditional infrastructure is thin. It cites use cases across e-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing, defence, and humanitarian relief.
The investment will help LogiXair accelerate product development and validate key aircraft systems. "This investment strengthens our ability to accelerate product development, validate key aircraft systems, and move closer to building a scalable autonomous cargo aviation platform," said Bhanu Teja Chidura.
The Chennai Angels, founded in 2007, brings together more than 150 investors and has deployed over ₹200 crore across more than 99 startups. Investment director Ashish Mehta said the team has made "strong technical progress toward full-scale flight while securing commercial interest across multiple routes in India."
The signal: Angel networks are increasingly backing capital-intensive deep-tech bets, not just software. With interest spanning commercial logistics and defence, LogiXair reflects India's push to build homegrown aerospace and drone-delivery infrastructure.
