Its evasys, evaexam, and qurricula products serve higher education, healthcare, corporate, and public sector clients, and the company says it is the only provider worldwide to fully automate both survey and examination processes.
The firm employs more than 60 people across offices in Lüneburg, Edinburgh, and Budapest, and serves thousands of users. DRS Investment SE, the seller, focuses on software and tech-enabled services businesses.
What's the endgame? VIA plans to accelerate evasys's international expansion and advance product innovation, particularly in AI-powered analytics. The buyer said it would build on the company's "established market position and loyal customer base."
How it happened: MCF Corporate Finance acted as exclusive sell-side advisor to DRS and remaining minority shareholders, running a targeted international M&A auction to complete the transaction.
The signal: VIA, which focuses on buyouts of profitable small and medium-sized businesses across the Nordics and DACH region, is adding a niche, cash-generative software asset with a nearly 30-year track record. The move underscores continued private equity appetite for specialist vertical software firms with recurring revenue and clear technological differentiation.
