WAIIS raises €1M seed round for AI-powered shared mobility in Spain

The app connects drivers and passengers travelling the same route in private cars. The goal is a cheaper, more sustainable way to move within and between cities.
Why now? WAIIS will use the funds to accelerate growth, strengthen its technology, and roll out nationally across Spain.
Founded in 2022, it closed 2025 with €2 million in revenue and targets €5 million for 2026, backed by roughly 12% monthly growth.
It also aims to end the year with more than 100,000 active users and reach one million in the coming years.
What could go wrong? Today's mobility market is fragmented across many apps, with separate platforms for carpooling, taxis, intercity trips, and daily commutes.
WAIIS wants to be the single reference point — a tall order in a crowded field.
"We want people to think of WAIIS first when they need to travel and save money," said Paulo Gómez, cofounder and chief executive officer. "Our goal is to become the reference for shared mobility in Spain."
The signal: WAIIS is betting on a simple inefficiency — too many empty seats in private cars entering and leaving cities — and on the gaps in public transport, from saturation to the "last mile" problem of reaching a final destination from a station. As an early-stage startup pitching an AI-powered network for daily commutes, it is wading into a crowded space, but its appeal to an aviation angel like Javier Pérez suggests investors see room for a single reference point as cities push for greener, cheaper transport.
