Launched in 2021, Minerva delivers British curriculum education through a virtual platform with live teacher-led lessons, weekly one-to-one mentoring, and more than 40 extracurricular clubs.
The school now has more than 1,500 full-time students across 60 countries. With Phoenix's backing, it aims to reach significantly more students worldwide.
Why now? Minerva built its model around student happiness, mental health, and safety — pitching itself as an alternative to traditional schooling.
Its rapid growth has made it ripe for outside capital to fund international expansion.
"Phoenix Equity Partners is the best possible investor we could have hoped for," said founder and chief executive officer Hugh Viney. "They are fully aligned with everything that makes Minerva Virtual Academy special."
