Founded in 2022 by Dr Ariella Heffernan-Marks, Ovum helps women track health patterns over time and advocate for themselves in clinical settings. Its users span ages 15 to 84 and more than 20 conditions, from ADHD and migraines to PCOS and menopause. The company says it has captured more than 60,000 health insights and facilitated over 113,000 AI health conversations to date.

Why it matters: The raise follows a AUD 1.7 million pre-seed round and has tripled the company's valuation. The presence of impact-focused backers like Giant Leap and government player LaunchVic alongside the lead points to an early-stage women's health bet that is part mission, part market opportunity — with investors treating the dataset itself, not just the app, as the asset worth funding.
