Ziptrrip makes first acquisition with HelloTravel buyout

What's the deal? Indian corporate travel platform Ziptrrip has acquired HelloTravel Online Private Limited for an undisclosed sum. It is Ziptrrip's first acquisition, coming within three years of launching operations. HelloTravel will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wayfarers Technologies Private Limited, Ziptrrip's parent company.

The deal expands Ziptrrip's reach into business leisure, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), and experiential travel. HelloTravel's founders will exit the business, but the existing team stays on to maintain partner relationships and operations.

Why now? Ziptrrip is building what it calls a "full-stack platform" in the corporate travel space. With capabilities now spanning travel management, expense management, MICE, business leisure, and experiential travel, the company is positioning itself for growth in India and potential global expansion.

"HelloTravel brings deep partner relationships and destination expertise built over years, which allows us to expand meaningfully into MICE and business leisure," said Shan Prabhakaran, co-founder and chief executive officer of Ziptrrip.

What could go wrong? Integrating an acquired company while its founders leave is tricky. Retaining HelloTravel's team helps, but institutional knowledge often walks out the door with founders. The undisclosed deal terms also make it hard to judge whether Ziptrrip paid a fair price.

The signal: Corporate travel in India is consolidating. Platforms are racing to bundle services — booking, expenses, events — into single offerings that lock in enterprise clients. Ziptrrip's bet is that a full-stack approach will differentiate it in a crowded market and lay the groundwork for international expansion.
