Sical Logistics board approves Rs 115 crore credit facilities from Axis Bank

What's the deal? Sical Logistics Limited's board has approved credit facilities worth up to Rs 115 crore (roughly $13.5M) from Axis Bank. The decision was made at a board meeting on May 23, 2026.

The package includes three components: a Rs 15 crore cash credit facility, a Rs 15 crore bank guarantee facility, and an Rs 85 crore term loan for refinancing purposes.

Why now? The company said the facilities would "significantly bolster" its operational and financial capacity. The Rs 85 crore term loan — the largest chunk — is earmarked for refinancing, suggesting Sical is restructuring existing debt, possibly to secure better terms or extend maturities.

What could go wrong? Taking on Rs 115 crore in credit facilities adds leverage to Sical's balance sheet. The company's stock slipped 1.65% on the day to settle at ₹63.78, with thin trading volume of just 9,376 shares — a sign of limited investor enthusiasm.

Sical noted that detailed terms of the agreement will be disclosed only upon execution, leaving shareholders without full visibility on interest rates, covenants, or repayment schedules for now.

The signal: Indian logistics firms continue to tap bank credit to fund operations and manage debt loads. Sical's move — with nearly 74% of the facility going toward refinancing — reflects a broader pattern of mid-cap logistics companies prioritising balance-sheet management over aggressive expansion in the current environment.
