BOTSHARE closes Series A at ¥7B valuation, pivots to industrial RaaS

What's the deal? Chinese robotics startup BOTSHARE has closed Series A and A+ funding rounds worth hundreds of millions of yuan, pushing its valuation to 7 billion yuan (roughly $960M). The company plans to use the capital to pivot from event-focused robot rentals toward industrial applications, building out a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) platform for manufacturing, warehousing, and commercial services.

Launched in December 2025 by embodied intelligence players including AgiBot and Flycode, BOTSHARE is led by chairman Jiang Qingsong — a partner at AgiBot — and chief executive officer Li Yiyan, founder of Flycode. Since going live, it has assembled a fleet of over 4,000 robots deployed across a nationwide network.

Why now? The company has moved fast since its December 2025 launch, logging delivery experience in tourism, events, retail, offices, and education. It has already rolled out core infrastructure — a partner SaaS system, smart dispatching, and a "skill store" — that enables cross-regional deployment and standardised operations.

BOTSHARE has assembled a hybrid team of over 100 professionals from top-tier Chinese platforms, industrial internet, and robot operations. That organisational build-out signals readiness to scale beyond demos and into real industrial workflows.

What could go wrong? The shift from flashy event robots to frontline industrial roles is a significant leap. Industrial customers demand reliability, safety certification, and measurable ROI — standards far more exacting than those in tourism or marketing. Scaling a RaaS model across diverse sectors also requires deep domain expertise that a five-month-old company is still developing.

Competition is fierce. China's robotics market is crowded with well-funded players, and the path from unicorn valuation to sustainable revenue remains unproven for many in this space.

The signal: BOTSHARE's rapid ascent reflects a broader bet that the real value in robotics lies not in hardware but in the service layer — deployment, dispatching, and scenario-specific operations at scale. The RaaS model mirrors the playbook that turned cloud computing from a product into a utility, and investors are clearly willing to fund the same logic applied to robots.

The company's transition from "robot rental platform" to "robot large-scale application service platform" also tracks a maturing market. China's embodied AI sector is moving past the proof-of-concept phase and into the messier, more lucrative work of industrial integration.
