Scalable Capital Raises $175M to Accelerate Pan-European Expansion

On June 4, 2025, Scalable Capital, the German fintech backed by BlackRock, secured $175 million in new funding, bringing its valuation to approximately $1.7 billion. With plans to expand into key markets like France and Italy, the company is positioning itself as a pan-European investment platform, inspired by the US-based Charles Schwab model.

Scalable aims to grow its assets under management from $33 billion to over $110 billion in the next few years, directly challenging rivals such as Trade Republic and Revolut. Its infrastructure recently proved robust during April’s market volatility, handling record trading volumes triggered by US tariff threats.

The company is also pursuing a banking license in Germany, a move that would enable broader service offerings across the EU. Scalable sees additional growth potential through government-led initiatives to boost retail investment via tax-incentivized savings plans.

As competition intensifies among Europe’s fintechs, this funding round highlights Scalable’s ambition to reshape the continent’s investment landscape through technology, scale, and strategic expansion.
