SignalFire Raises $1 Billion to Expand Early-Stage AI Investment
In April 2025, SignalFire, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm, raised over $1 billion in new capital, bringing its total assets under management to approximately $3 billion. This is the firm’s largest fundraise to date and comes at a time when many venture firms are reducing their fund sizes.
Founded in 2013, SignalFire is known for its data-driven investment strategy, underpinned by its proprietary Beacon AI platform. Beacon AI analyses data from over 650 million individuals and 80 million organisations, helping the firm identify market trends, source deals, and support portfolio companies with talent and operational insights.
SignalFire’s approach integrates AI into every stage of the investment process, from pre-seed through Series B, with a focus on applied AI in sectors such as healthcare, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and consumer technology.
The new capital will be deployed across multiple funds, including Seed, Early, Executive-in-Residence, and Opportunities funds, with plans to invest in more than 160 startups over the next two and a half years. SignalFire’s investor base for this fund includes large pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and major financial institutions, reflecting strong confidence in its AI-native model.
SignalFire’s portfolio includes companies such as Grammarly, Grow Therapy, EvenUp, and Flock Freight. The firm emphasises supporting founders from the earliest stages and helping them scale with operational resources, data science, and a network of advisers.
