iFood Acquires Saipos in Second Deal with Same Founders

The founders of Saipos, a Brazilian restaurant management software company, have twice built startups acquired by iFood.

Devorando quickly became a leading delivery app in southern Brazil, attracting the attention of major industry players, and in February 2016 it was acquired by iFood, marking the founders’ first successful exit.

Drawing on their experience and insights from Devorando, the same team went on to develop Saipos in 2017, a point-of-sale and management system designed to simplify and digitise restaurant operations.

Saipos gained rapid traction, serving thousands of restaurants across Brazil and earning recognition in leading acceleration programmes and on Shark Tank Brasil.

Once again, in April 2025 iFood saw strategic value in the founders’ work and acquired Saipos, marking the second time the company has purchased a business from this entrepreneurial group.
