Kurma Partners raises €140 million first close of new €250 million Biofund IV

Kurma Partners, a Paris-based asset manager, announced the first close of its Biofund IV at €140 million, with a target of €250 million by 2025. The fund, dedicated to developing innovative therapeutics, aims to make 16-20 investments in both new and established venture-stage companies. Biofund IV follows Kurma's proven collaborative approach, which involves close partnerships with academic scientists and leveraging networks of industry professionals. Three companies—SciRhom (autoimmune diseases), Memo Therapeutics (natural immunity), and Avidicure (cancer immunotherapy)—have already been supported.

Kurma Partners has a strong track record, with notable acquisitions from its Biofund III portfolio, such as Amolyt Pharma by AstraZeneca, Emergence Therapeutics by Eli Lilly, and Corlieve Therapeutics by UniQure. The success of its venture model has attracted key investors like Eurazeo, Bpifrance, and CSL.
