Arcos raises €5.5M seed to unify physical security for critical infrastructure
What's the deal? German security technology company ArcosDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €5.5 million in seed funding to expand its platform for monitoring and responding to security incidents across critical infrastructure and other physical sites. The round included High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Bayern KapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Pact, Haufe, Robin CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and strategic business angels. HTGF's backers include the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW Capital.
What's the endgame? Arcos builds a platform that merges signals from connected sensors into a single operational system for managing security incidents. It lets operators monitor homes, commercial properties, construction sites, and critical infrastructure — including railway stations, substations, and data centres — from one control centre.
Why now? The company is targeting a growing gap: organisations are deploying more sensors while facing shortages of operational staff. Rather than relying on separate systems for monitoring, decision-making, and incident management, Arcos detects, assesses, escalates, and documents incidents in one place.
What's different? Arcos develops and operates both the software platform and the control centre infrastructure, which it says lets its teams update workflows based on real incidents rather than depending on outside vendors. "As a result, we see immediately in daily operations where workflows need to improve, and we can implement those improvements ourselves," said Moritz Steigerwald, founder and managing director.
Founder and managing director Louis Wübben framed the stakes plainly: "More sensors, fewer people. What is missing is someone who looks."
What's the money for? The funding will expand Arcos' team in Germany, further develop the platform, and prepare for growth in the critical infrastructure market. The company also plans to enter additional European markets.
The signal: At €5.5 million, the round sits in the top 10% of all-time seed deals in the security sector, a sign of investor appetite for physical infrastructure protection as European operators grapple with rising threats and thinning staff.
