Cholet's Bravi lands $1.8M seed with Y Combinator to enter US

What's the deal? BraviDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a French startup building artificial intelligence (AI) tools for the joinery and housing sectors, has raised $1.8 million in a seed round. Investors include Y Combinator, American and French funds, and European and American business angels.

What does Bravi do? Founded in January 2025 in Cholet, in the Maine-et-Loire region, it builds AI quote configurators, technical databases accessible through a conversational agent, and an AI receptionist that answers calls 24 hours a day. The company counts around 20 French clients, from small firms to large groups.

Why Y Combinator? The Californian incubator selected Bravi last year for a three-month program in San Francisco. "It was intense, but it enabled us to meet investors and gain greater visibility in France," said co-founder Anas Bouassami, who launched the company with Pierre-Habté Nouvellon.

What's the endgame? The money will fund continued development in France and a commercial push into the United States.

The signal: At $1.8 million, the round sits near the median for seed deals, a workable base for a young company splitting its focus between two markets. Bravi's path — a French startup routed through Silicon Valley before its first raise — reflects how transatlantic incubators now shape early-stage European ventures.
