Hello Patient buys Converse Health to automate the medical back office
What's the deal? Hello Patient has acquired Converse HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AI workflow automation company built for outpatient medical practices. The deal was announced on September 15, 2026; terms were not disclosed. Converse Health adds AI agents that handle document and chart work to Hello Patient's front-office automation.
What each side brings: Hello Patient builds agentic AI for patient communications, from first call to follow-up. Converse Health, founded in 2023 by Louis Sallerson, Val Zinchenko, and Adam Teitelman, built custom administrative workflows for practices in dermatology, women's health, pain medicine, and orthopedics.
By the numbers: Converse Health raised $1.3 million and grew to serve dozens of practices. Its agents read and write to electronic health records and deliver automation in days.
What's the endgame? Hello Patient wants to cover a practice's operations end-to-end with one AI layer — answering calls, routing faxes, booking follow-ups, and sending payers what they need. High-volume providers, from primary and urgent care to ENT, dental, and specialty practices, can now automate work from the first phone call through the back office.
Why now? Practices lose patients at the front desk, with up to 42% of calls and texts going unanswered during busy hours. The paperwork that follows is just as costly, as staff play phone tag with patients, referring offices, and payers while appointments go unbooked.
Sallerson joins Hello Patient as product leader for back-office and specialty workflows. "Hello Patient already sits at the front door of thousands of practices, so Converse Health becomes a natural extension," he said.
The signal: The acquisition reflects a push to consolidate healthcare administration under a single AI vendor rather than bolting on point solutions one task at a time. "Operations leaders are being forced to bolt AI onto existing systems and buy solutions one task at a time, which is unmanageable," said Alex Cohen, chief executive officer and founder of Hello Patient. The bet is that practices will redesign their workflows around AI agents — and want one company accountable for the result.
