Agastya Energy approves $59M preferential issue to fund energy expansion

What's the deal? Agastya Energy and Infrastructure LimitedDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, part of India's Anubhav Agarwal Group, has approved a preferential issue of equity shares and convertible warrants worth up to Rs 5.66 billion (about $59 million). The board cleared the raise on September 15, 2026.

What's the endgame? The company said the capital will strengthen its financial position and support long-term growth across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Why now? The raise follows a run of expansion moves by the wider Anubhav Agarwal Group. In August 2026, Agastya Green Energy announced a Rs 78 billion push into integrated 12GW ingot and wafer manufacturing at the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

In June 2026, Agastya Green Fuels signed a long-term green methanol offtake agreement with SAR Maritime Agencies to supply 250 kilo tonnes per annum of EU RFNBO RED III-compliant green methanol. That volume will come from the group's hub at Mulapeta Port in Andhra Pradesh.

The signal: A preferential issue lets the group tap fresh equity quickly as it scales solar manufacturing and green fuels — capital-heavy bets that need funding well ahead of returns.
