Evvy raises $40M to make vaginal microbiome testing routine

What's the endgame? Evvy wants to build what CEO and co-founder Priyanka Jain calls "the definitive diagnostic engine for women's health." Its at-home Vaginal Health Test analyzes more than 700 bacteria and fungi from a swab, priced at $159 for a single test or $129 through a membership.
The company has served over 100,000 patients and partnered with 3,000 practitioners, building what it describes as the world's largest proprietary dataset on the vaginal microbiome. Some 96% of its patients contribute data anonymously to research.
Why fertility? Evvy is running prospective studies with IVF clinics, building on 13 peer-reviewed publications and 2025 studies covering more than 1,000 patients. "Thirty percent of infertility is categorized as unexplained," Jain says. "By measuring and modulating the microbiome proactively, we can tangibly improve clinical outcomes."
The funding will scale EvvyAI, the data and AI platform behind the business. Catalio managing partner Jacob Vogelstein points to its "combination of proprietary data, clinical evidence and a growing biomarker discovery engine," adding that Evvy is "building the data platform that will define this category for decades to come."
Why now? Investors are moving into women's health. Evvy's $40 million round ranks among the larger deals in the space, sitting near the top quartile by size.
The signal: Diagnosing common vaginal conditions still relies on rudimentary tools — bacterial vaginosis, for instance, is assessed via pH, discharge, microscopy and an odor test. Evvy's bet is that metagenomic sequencing plus a large proprietary dataset can turn an under-researched field into a precision-medicine category, with fertility as the first proving ground.
