What's the endgame? Phase0 runs a browser-based platform bundling tendering, billing, fee management, and construction supervision for small and mid-sized architecture and engineering firms. The new capital funds AI agents that automate time-consuming administrative tasks. The company says it has onboarded more than 1,000 firms.

Why now? While design work in the sector is going digital, many administrative processes still run on manual workflows and dated desktop software. Phase0 embeds AI directly into existing project data rather than bolting on a generic chatbot.

What's built? Two features are already live: an AI tool that drafts and checks specification documents against German building standards, and an AI construction diary that turns WhatsApp photos and voice notes into reports, tickets, and emails.

"Whoever manages million-euro projects shouldn't be writing invoices in Word on a Sunday afternoon," said founder and managing director Matthäus Kerres (translated from German). "The tasks that cost the most time — specifications, protocols, invoice checks — are exactly the ones AI can best take over."

Realyze will also open its network across the construction and real estate industries to help Phase0 reach more customers. "Unlike a general chatbot, the AI was trained on specific construction data," said Stefan Läufer, general partner at Realyze Ventures (translated from German).

The signal: The round sits in the 35th percentile by size, a modest early-stage cheque. But it reflects growing investor interest in vertical AI that targets the administrative grind of legacy industries — here, the paperwork behind construction projects.
