Caltius backs engineering firm DCI to fund acquisitions

What's the deal? Caltius Structured Capital has closed a growth equity investment in DCI Engineers, a multi-disciplinary engineering services firm. The financing, announced September 10, 2026, will fund growth initiatives and strategic acquisitions.

What does DCI do? Founded in 1988, the firm offers end-to-end capabilities across structural, civil, and industrial engineering, plus surveying. It serves architects, developers, and general contractors across all 50 states.

What's the endgame? DCI plans to grow its adjacent practices alongside its core structural engineering business and deepen client relationships. It also intends to invest in technology and operating infrastructure, and pursue acquisitions.

The signal: The deal reflects continued private capital interest in specialised engineering and infrastructure services, where fragmented markets create room for consolidation. By backing an established, nationwide firm, Caltius is betting on a buy-and-build strategy to scale.
