What's the endgame? Connecta is a clinical-stage biotech developing neuroplasticity modulators for central nervous system disorders. Its lead drug, CTH120, is a potential first-in-class treatment for Fragile X syndrome (FXS), a rare, currently untreatable neurodevelopmental disorder that impairs cognition and behaviour.
Why now? The proceeds will fund completion of an ongoing Phase IIa trial of CTH120 in 30 adult males with FXS, initiated in June 2026. Topline data is expected in mid-2027.

Ignacio Prieto Fernández of Clave Capital, who joins Connecta's board, cited the company's "differentiated approach to targeting neuroplasticity in FXS."
The signal: The round is modest by biotech standards, sitting near the middle of comparable deals. But it targets a defined near-term catalyst — a 2027 readout — that could validate CTH120's approach in a disease with no approved treatment.
