Try Dealroom → provided a ¥200 million overdraft line, while Japan Finance Corporation supplied ¥200 million through its startup support programme.

What does the company do? XPERISUS develops high-value cultural and travel experiences across Japan and sells them to wealthy travellers worldwide, using a "production-and-sales integrated" model. Founded in 2017, it aims to preserve regional culture as the number of local practitioners declines.

What's the money for? The Japan Finance Corporation funds target AI development and mid-to-long-term growth investment, including AI features and development infrastructure. The Mizuho overdraft line gives the company flexible working capital to match business expansion and demand.

Why now? XPERISUS says the rapid decline in cultural practitioners demands faster growth. The debt round diversifies its funding after a ¥1.24 billion Series A, letting it draw capital as business needs arise.

Building where? The company opened a Fukuoka office in April 2026 and a Kyoto satellite office in June 2026 to deepen ties with local communities. It participates in luxury travel networks SerandipiansDealroom has a profile for this one. What they said? "With the support of Mizuho Bank and Japan Finance Corporation, we are very reassured to have further strengthened our financial base," said chief executive officer Tomoyoshi Maruyama (translated from Japanese).

The signal: Debt financing lets startups extend their runway without diluting equity, and XPERISUS is pairing it with regional office expansion to scale an inbound-tourism model built on Japan's cultural heritage. The bet is that global demand for high-end travel can fund the preservation of local traditions.
