Group chief executive officer Sundeep Raichura said the company wanted "more than capital" and a partner that "understands Africa."

"Our investment in Zamara reflects a deep conviction in the group's leadership, its purpose, and its potential as a pan-African financial services platform," said Frank-Astère Ndiyo Butoyi, partner at Amethis.
Amethis said it would act as a "close, hands-on partner" from its teams in Nairobi and across the continent, helping the group extend its reach.
The signal: The deal points to sustained private equity interest in African financial services, where established regional operators offer investors exposure to pensions, insurance, and actuarial markets across multiple growing economies. Backing a firm with more than three decades of operating history reflects a preference for building on proven platforms rather than early-stage bets.
