Park Blue Homes buys Flourish Care, growing to 23 residential homes

What each side does: Flourish, established in Gloucestershire in 2017, runs ten small, family-friendly homes in the Midlands and South West. It supports children with learning disabilities and complex needs, including trauma, in Ofsted-registered homes all rated Outstanding or Good.
The buyer: Park Blue, owned by Richard Parker and Ruth Parker-Pollard, opened its first children's home 14 years ago and now employs nearly 200 staff. It operates therapeutic care homes from the North East to the South West, including South Yorkshire, Newcastle, Sunderland, Swindon and Bath.
Why it fits: Both providers work with local authority teams, families and health professionals around a therapeutic care model. Why now? Park Blue has been seeking to expand its therapeutic residential provision across England. Who advised: Accountancy and advisory firm Azets acted for Park Blue, with Javaid supported by Adam Mulla and Josh Wright. Financial and tax due diligence was led by Graham Dotchin, with Jamie Hepworth and Leigh Davenport.
The signal: The deal reflects continued consolidation in the UK children's residential care sector, where operators are scaling to meet demand from local authorities for specialist provision.
