Ifop acquires trend consultancy Nelly Rodi, maker of €6M in revenue
What's the deal? The Ifop Group has acquired 100% of Nelly RodiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Paris-based trend-forecasting and strategy consultancy for fashion, luxury and beauty. The deal, announced on September 8, was disclosed without a price tag.
What each side brings: Nelly Rodi, founded in 1985, advises brands on style and consumer trends across fashion, luxury, beauty and lifestyle. Ifop is a leading French consumer-research player whose stable includes Sociovision, Occurrence, Deep Opinion and Brain Value.
Why now? Chief executive Pierre-François Le Louët, who has run his mother's company for 25 years, initiated the sale in late 2025 to secure the brand's future. "It was my responsibility to plan for this succession," he told FashionNetwork.com.
The other driver is data. Le Louët argues that shifting consumer behaviour makes granular market observation "absolutely crucial" for defining brand strategies. Ifop's data and research power will feed Nelly Rodi's studies and trend publications; the two firms first collaborated about a decade ago on luxury-brand desirability.
By the numbers: Nelly Rodi generated around €6 million in turnover last year. The acquisition covers its operations, staff and premises, including around 30 employees in France and a network of about 30 people across its Japanese and US subsidiaries, plus representatives in markets such as China and South Korea.
What's the endgame? Le Louët remains in day-to-day charge. "Our ambition is not simply to add up our areas of expertise," said Ifop chief executive Christophe Jourdain, framing the deal as a bid to build a group of leading brands, expertise and talent operating "with all the agility of a group on a human scale."
The signal: The tie-up folds decades-old creative intuition into hard consumer data — a bet that luxury and beauty brands increasingly need both to read fast-changing demand across generations and cities.
