HydroSight raises $5M to map the seabed with AI
What's the deal? Haifa-based startup HydroSightDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has emerged from stealth with $5 million in seed funding to build an AI platform that maps the seabed. StageOne VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? HydroSight's platform pulls together marine survey data from different sources and time periods, automatically flagging changes, anomalies, and patterns to produce a continuously updated map of the seabed. It targets ports, energy companies, and telecom cable operators through a B2B enterprise model.
Why now? Sonar and survey systems collect ever-larger volumes of seabed data, but turning that into a clear picture still leans on slow, manual work requiring specialist expertise. As energy projects, cables, and ports move offshore while land and coastal space tightens, accurately reading the seabed matters more.
What's the money for? HydroSight will use the funding to expand its team, deepen its AI and analytics capabilities, and accelerate commercial work with customers abroad. It is already running projects with marine infrastructure owners in Israel and internationally.
In the founder's words: "Roughly 30% of the world's oil and gas is produced at sea, and more than 99% of international data traffic runs through cables laid on the seabed," said chief executive officer Tomer Adler, who founded the company in late 2025 with Haitham Ezzy and Chen Megera.
The signal: The round sits in the top 10% of all-time seed deals in the energy sector by size, a sign of investor appetite for infrastructure tied to offshore energy and subsea connectivity. As economic activity keeps moving underwater, tools that make the seabed legible are becoming part of the energy and telecom stack.
