Who else is in? The round also drew a roster of individual backers, including former German finance minister Christian Lindner, 2014 World Cup champion Mario Gezer, and Meta board member Charlie Sonhurst.
By the numbers: The raise sits in the 92nd percentile of all German seed rounds, according to a sample of 4,252 deals. That puts Zeit AI ahead of nine in 10 comparable rounds in the country.
The signal: A €5 million seed backed by both marquee funds and prominent individuals signals continued investor appetite for European AI startups — and shows Y Combinator's pipeline is drawing capital well beyond Silicon Valley.
