Cyprus's Piney raises €1.6M to bring its rental-ops model to the US

What's the deal? PineyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Cyprus-founded cleaning and operations provider for short and mid-term rental property managers, has raised €1.6 million in an early-stage round led by Uni.fundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with participation from 33EastDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The company services 5,000 properties across Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, France and, as of this month, the US.

What's the endgame? Piney offers property managers a full operational layer — cleaning, laundry, linen management, and consumables supply and placement — monitored through its technology platform. The pitch is that the platform lets a services business scale with the efficiency of a software company.

Why now? Since its previous round in late 2024, Piney has grown from 1,300 to 5,000 properties under service, an almost fourfold jump in under two years. Spain is now its largest market, with operations in Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga; Cyprus remains its home base and proving ground.

Where next? The new capital funds a US expansion, starting with Miami — Piney's first market outside Europe. The company calls the city a natural first step, home to one of the world's most active rental markets, and plans to use it as a blueprint for further international growth.

Funds will also deepen Piney's European presence and accelerate its technology platform, including AI. The system already reviews cleaners' inspection photos in real time, flagging issues before staff leave a property.

What investors say: "Piney has executed exactly as we hoped when we first backed them: disciplined growth, strong unit economics, and a product property managers rely on daily," said Sotiris Papantonopoulos, partner at Uni.fund.

The signal: At €1.6 million, this is a modest raise — landing in the bottom half of comparable early-stage rounds. But it signals a Cypriot startup betting that a services model built and tested at home can compete abroad. As founder and chief executive officer Nicolas Chrysostomou put it: "With Miami, we're showing that a company built in Cyprus can compete anywhere."
