By the numbers: The round brings Elucid's total funding to date to about $185 million. Its size lands in roughly the 62nd percentile among comparable rounds.
What's the endgame? Elucid uses AI-powered, clinically validated software to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease from routine CT scans. It plans to build a comprehensive clinical decision platform combining its FDA-cleared Plaque-IQ tool with FFR-CT, a 510(k) submission currently under FDA review.
Why now? The company is preparing for a full commercial launch pending FDA clearance of its BioIntegrated FFR-CT product. Proceeds will fund that commercial expansion, further AI research, and clinical studies.
The round also added a large medtech company as Elucid's fourth publicly traded strategic investor. That, the company said, signals "growing industry confidence" in its approach to non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics.
What they're saying: "Elucid is applying AI to integrate anatomy, biology, and physiology to bring personalized treatment to coronary artery disease management," said Kelly Huang, chief executive officer of Elucid.
The signal: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. By converting standard CT angiography into quantitative insights, Elucid is betting that heart care can follow oncology's shift from population-based treatment toward personalised diagnosis.
