Flamingo raises $4.5M seed to build AI for IT teams, plans Miami HQ
What's the deal? Flamingo, a Miami Beach startup building AI-driven infrastructure for IT and security teams, has raised a $4.5 million seed round led by Vertex VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The financing brings its total funding to $6.7 million after a $2.2 million pre-seed round in October 2025.
What's the endgame? Flamingo serves managed service providers (MSPs), which run IT and security operations for companies without large internal teams. Its platform, OpenFrameDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, uses open-source infrastructure and AI agents to cut the number of separate tools MSPs must buy and staff.
Why now? The company is moving from beta to a paid product by the end of September. It said 400 MSPs are using the product across 10,000 endpoints, with another 2,500 providers on the waitlist.
The money model: Flamingo plans to charge $1 per device each month, including 10 million AI tokens. An annual plan will cost 80 cents per device each month, with 25 million tokens.
The pitch targets MSP economics. Providers typically charge by users or devices, but adding clients requires more technicians, squeezing margins. Flamingo wants software to handle routine work while technicians oversee higher-risk actions.
What's next? Founder Michael Assraf plans to grow Flamingo's Miami team — currently just him among 35 employees — to at least 10 people, mostly in sales, marketing, and other customer-facing roles. A future round could push that to 30 or 40.
"My goal is to definitely build the headquarters here. And have the C-level executives all sitting here," Assraf said. Florida already hosts major MSP players, including Miami-based Kaseya and Tampa-based ConnectWise. "Florida is basically a hub specifically for my field," he said.
The signal: Flamingo's bet reflects a broader push to fold AI agents into back-office IT work. Assraf's long-term aim goes further: "The broader vision is to have IT running on its own."
