Yellow Wood to buy Nestle supplement brands for $1B

Why now? The deal is part of Nestle's push to concentrate investment where it believes it holds the strongest advantages. Chief executive officer Philipp Navratil, in the role a year, has already cut the group's exposure to ice cream and bottled water through disposals and joint ventures.
Navratil said the mainstream supplements operations would benefit from a different ownership model, freeing Nestle to redirect resources towards core priorities.
What's the endgame? Nestle acquired several of the brands, including Nature's Bounty, through its $5.75 billion purchase of The Bountiful Company in 2021. It will retain Solgar, its premium vitamins and supplements brand, after the deal closes.
The sale is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to customary conditions and approvals.
The signal: For Yellow Wood, the acquisition is its latest bet on established consumer brands being carved out of larger corporate owners.
