Cribl buys Radiant Security's AI SOC assets in second security deal of 2025

What's the deal? Cribl, an AI telemetry platform, has acquired technology assets from Radiant Security's AI-native security operations centre (SOC) solution. The purchase includes intellectual property that autonomously triages, analyses, and resolves security alerts. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? Cribl plans to adapt the SOC technology to run as an application on its telemetry data platform. Rather than relying on predefined playbooks, the AI generates triage logic tailored to each alert, then runs investigations directly against telemetry wherever it is stored.

Why now? This is Cribl's second security acquisition this year, following CardinalOps in July. As AI reshapes security operations, capabilities once sold as standalone products increasingly fit better on a shared telemetry platform than in a disconnected tool that creates its own data silo.

What's the rationale? Cofounder and chief executive officer Clint Sharp argues that too much of the security market remains trapped in data silos. "Too much of the $121 billion security market is trapped in data silos, robbing security teams of a complete picture," he said (translated from French). The goal, he added, is to give teams the insights they need "at the moment AI is transforming all operations."

The signal: Cribl is betting that open telemetry data becomes the foundation for AI-driven security applications. "Cribl's approach is to turn raw telemetry data into a unified foundation for AI-driven applications," said Andrew Braunberg, principal analyst at OmdiaDealroom has a profile for this one.
