Who's involved? Founded in 1999 by Mark Sharpe, Corporate Insurance Group specialises in workers' compensation, commercial auto, and general liability. It also brings niche expertise in personal care services, adult day care, artisan contractors, and non-emergency medical transportation.
Why now? Sharpe wanted to keep serving clients even as his longtime business partner prepared to retire. Rather than wind the agency down, he sought a partner offering national scale.
What changes? Clients gain access to Inszone's expanded markets, technology, and back-office resources. Sharpe and his team stay on as they integrate into Inszone's systems.
"What drew me to Inszone was the size and the additional markets," said Sharpe. "Being part of a national platform lets me offer my clients access to markets and carriers I simply couldn't reach on my own."
What's the endgame? Founded in 2002 and based in Sacramento, Inszone grows organically and through acquisitions. It now serves clients across 25 states, with more expansion planned nationwide.
"Mark has built a specialized commercial book with authentic expertise in workers' compensation, transportation, and personal care services, and that kind of focus is hard to find," said Chris Walters, chief executive officer of Inszone.
The signal: Retiring founders and succession gaps continue to fuel consolidation among independent insurance agencies, as national platforms absorb specialised regional books.
