What's the deal? Munich-based SEVEST ManagementDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a majority stake in IBG HydroTechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a German maker of systems for trenchless repair of drinking-water and sewage pipes. Longtime owner and managing director Norbert Olbrich keeps a significant stake and stays on to run the company, while SEVEST founding partner Philipp Haindl leads the deal. Terms were not disclosed.

Why now? The two sides framed the transaction as a long-term succession solution, effective September 1, 2026.

What does IBG do? Founded in 1996, IBG develops, manufactures, and sells components and systems for the trenchless repair and cleaning of pressurised drinking-water lines and sewage pipes. Over three decades it has built an international position and sells worldwide, trading on its "Made in Germany" quality.

What's the endgame? SEVEST wants to help IBG enter its next growth phase, extending its technological lead and market position to meet rising international demand for trenchless repair. It plans to work closely with management to strengthen the company's operations, keeping IBG's strategy and customer relationships intact.

The signal: Haindl called IBG "an outstanding example of a technology-driven hidden champion," pointing to strong structural growth in the trenchless-repair market. He tied that demand to ageing water and wastewater infrastructure and tightening regulation worldwide — the kind of durable, infrastructure-linked niche that private capital increasingly targets for succession-driven buyouts of German family-owned specialists.
