Try Dealroom →, has raised nearly 1.34 billion yen (about $8.4 million) in a Series B round. The company said the funding will strengthen its financial base and support long-term growth.

What's the endgame? Tablecross connects foreign visitors with Japan's food culture through a platform for restaurant and experience bookings. It plans to use the money to develop regional food experiences, add multi-language support and AI-driven personalisation, and recruit across business development, marketing, and product.

Why now? Japan recorded 3.44 million foreign visitors in July 2026, the highest ever for that month, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization. Spending by foreign travellers reached roughly 4.8 trillion yen in the first half of 2026.

What's the plan? The company is working with local governments, Destination Management Organizations, and transport operators to turn regional food culture into marketable products. One example is a partnership with Tokamachi City in Niigata Prefecture to build experiences for foreign visitors.

The signal: With inbound tourism at record levels, Tablecross is betting that packaging local culinary experiences — not just restaurant referrals — can channel visitor spending into Japan's regional economies.
