Cherubic Ventures closes $68.88M Fund VI, pushing AUM past $500M

What's the deal? Taipei-based Cherubic VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed its sixth fund at $68.88 million, lifting assets under management across its six funds past $500 million. The number reflects the auspicious meaning of eight in East Asian cultures, associated with prosperity.

Who's backing it? Investors across all six funds include global institutional investors and foundations, publicly listed companies, family offices, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals.

What's the endgame? Fund VI keeps the firm's early-stage focus, investing in AI-native companies across infrastructure, developer tools, enterprise software, healthcare, physical AI, and robotics. Though still early, its portfolio companies have already raised more than $500 million in follow-on funding.

The standout: Portfolio robotics startup Sudo AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has reached a valuation of nearly $2 billion two years after founding. CherubicDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → was its earliest institutional investor, backing a company whose sudo R1 system is trained in virtual simulation to handle objects it has never encountered without real-world manipulation data.

The track record. Founded in 2015, Cherubic was among the first venture firms to adopt the solo GP model and has invested in more than 200 companies globally. Early bets include Hims & Hers, now listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and Paidy, acquired by PayPal for $2.7 billion.

Why it matters. Cherubic is also an early investor in Entire, the developer platform from former GitHub chief executive officer Thomas Dohmke, which raised $60 million this year in what the firm calls the largest seed round for a developer tools startup.

"After ten years, I am more certain than ever about why I chose to invest at the earliest stages," said Matt Cheng, founder and solo general partner. "Working alongside exceptional founders, finding a path through uncertainty, and ultimately changing an industry is what keeps driving me."

The signal: Fund VI marks the start of Cherubic's second decade and a doubling down on AI across infrastructure and industry applications. Its bet is that backing founders "before the answers are clear" remains the core of early-stage investing.
