Easy Aerial raises $20M Series B to scale autonomous defense drones

What's the deal? Easy Aerial has closed a $20 million Series B round led by Insight Partners and Entrée Capital, with private US investors also participating. The company builds autonomous tethered drone systems for persistent aerial intelligence, force protection, perimeter security, and critical infrastructure operations.

Why now? The round follows a run of new defense and security contracts across the US and international markets. Rising demand for aerial intelligence is pushing the company to expand its manufacturing and operational capacity.

What's the endgame? The funding will back global expansion, increased production capacity, international defense programs, and further investment in autonomous aerial technology.

Easy Aerial recently expanded production into Europe, part of a wider push to grow its global manufacturing and integration network for defense, government, and commercial customers.

"With new programs underway in both the U.S. and overseas, we're expanding our production capabilities, strengthening our international operations, and continuing to deliver reliable autonomous aerial systems," said chief executive officer Shahar Abuhazira.

For Insight Partners — which manages over $90B in regulatory assets and has backed more than 900 companies — the bet is on trusted, US-built hardware. "Easy Aerial's autonomous drone systems deliver actionable intelligence without operational complexity, at a moment when trusted, U.S.-built technology is in high demand," said Mike Hayes, managing director at Insight Partners and an Easy Aerial board member.

The signal: At $20 million, the round sits near the middle of the pack for its type, landing in the 51st percentile by size. That modest figure reflects a defense-tech sector where capital increasingly follows companies with signed government contracts and domestic manufacturing.
