GIVA hits Rs 4,900 crore valuation as silver jewellery bet scales to 300 stores
What's the deal? Bengaluru-based jewellery brand GIVA has reached a valuation of roughly Rs 4,900 crore after an extended Series C round. Founded in 2019, the company sells affordable, daily-wear silver jewellery and now runs about 300 physical stores across India.
What's the endgame? GIVA is building an omnichannel retailer around branded, everyday accessories rather than traditional gold as a long-term asset. It differentiates through service features such as authenticity certificates and lifetime replating.
By the numbers: Revenue climbed 89% to Rs 518 crore in FY25. But the consolidated net loss widened to Rs 72.3 crore, up from Rs 58.7 crore a year earlier, as store openings and marketing outran sales.
What could go wrong? Rapid expansion is straining the balance sheet. Inventory jumped 108% to Rs 100 crore in FY25 — a risk in fashion categories where trends shift quickly and unsold stock ties up cash.
The signal: GIVA is chasing market share over near-term profit, mirroring rivals CaratLane and BlueStone that moved from online-only to omnichannel. The test now is whether growing revenue eventually narrows losses.
