Danish energy startup os.energy exits stealth with €1M pre-seed
What's the deal? Danish energy startup os.energyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised a €1 million pre-seed round led by early-stage investor PSV TechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, exiting stealth mode to launch its first product, a digital electricity provider called OsmundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.
Why now? The founders timed the reveal to TechBBQ, the Copenhagen startup conference opening today, which expects around 10,000 attendees. The two founders say they have worked quietly on the platform since last year, securing their own supplier licence.
What's the endgame? Osmund adds no margin to the electricity it sells, passing power through at cost. It offers two tariffs — Osmund Åben, where households pay the procurement price with an optional app for 13 Danish kroner a month, and Osmund Rolig, which bundles spot-price power with a fixed monthly fee. Revenue comes from the flat fees and software, not consumption.
Who's behind it? Chief executive officer Niklas Allamand Dib previously built Bodil.energyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which helped homeowners swap oil and gas heating for heat pumps. Co-founder and chief technology officer Maziar Zamani was founding CTO of motion-capture firm Rokoko.
The pitch centres on transparency. In the app, customers can ask questions in plain language — such as why a bill rose in a given month — and get visual answers modelled on Apple Health rather than a PDF or phone hotline.
"Our incentive is the opposite of what the industry has. A classic electricity provider earns more the more power its customers use," Dib said (translated from German). The underlying os.energy platform runs the entire operation, from market data and billing to customer service, allowing a small team to run the business.
What's next? The founders plan to draw medium-term revenue from services around flexible consumption, which they call New Energy: smart control of electric vehicles, heat pumps, and home batteries. Osmund is already testing automated EV charging at times of low prices and high renewable output, and has announced a product called Osmund Balance.
The signal: At €1 million, the round sits in the lower tier of pre-seed deals by size, placing os.energy in the 26th percentile — a modest cheque for a capital-light software play betting that grid flexibility will increasingly come from the demand side.
