Herron Todd White buys Mitchell Brandtman, entering quantity surveying

What's the endgame? HTW wants to expand its capability across the full property lifecycle — from acquisition and financing through development, construction, ownership and asset management. Mitchell Brandtman's specialisms span cost planning, financier quantity surveying, infrastructure, tax depreciation and asset management, complementing HTW's valuation, assurance, data and advisory work.

What Mitchell Brandtman brings. Founded more than 55 years ago, the firm serves financial institutions, developers, government, insurers, legal professionals and corporate clients. It will keep its brand and leadership, retaining its existing people and client relationships.

Why it matters. "The acquisition adds an important new pillar to the Herron Todd White Group," chief executive officer Peter Maloney said. He added that it "broadens our services and diversifies our customer base, while significantly expanding the ways we can support clients across the property lifecycle."

What Mitchell Brandtman says. Managing director Michael Ivey called joining HTW "an exciting new chapter" for the business. "HTW shares our commitment to independence, technical excellence, innovation and client-first service," he said, adding that the deal gives the firm greater national scale and increased investment in data and technology.

The signal: The move reflects consolidation among Australia's property professional services firms, as valuers broaden into adjacent advisory lines to serve lenders, developers and investors across a single platform. HTW positions itself as one of the country's largest and fastest-growing independent players in the sector.
