Stellaria raises AED 25M seed to scale UAE-built geospatial AI

What's the deal? Stellaria, a UAE-based AI and geospatial intelligence company, has closed a AED 25 million ($6.8 million) seed round backed by a group of angel investors. The round values the Dubai company at AED 420 million ($114.4 million).

What's the endgame? Stellaria is building an AI operating system for geospatial intelligence, turning satellite imagery and other data into what it calls "actionable intelligence" through a unified platform. Its capabilities span satellite imagery analytics, automated target recognition, maritime and port intelligence, and environmental monitoring.

What's it for? The funding will scale that operating system, expand Stellaria's technical team, and accelerate deployment across the UAE and international markets. The company, formerly known as FarminDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, is an alumnus of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s accelerator program.

Why it stands out: The round ranks in the 96th percentile among all-time seed rounds for computer vision companies in the UAE, based on a sample of 2,694 deals. That places Stellaria's raise well above the typical early-stage cheque in the sector.

In their words: "Our ambition is to build globally relevant space and AI technology from the UAE and contribute to the country's growing position as a hub for advanced innovation," said founder and chief executive officer Dr. Ali AlHammadi.

The signal: Stellaria's growth reflects the UAE's push to nurture homegrown space and AI capabilities. As the country positions itself as an innovation hub, a large seed round for a defence- and government-facing geospatial startup signals rising investor appetite for dual-use technology built locally.
