TriSummit raises C$200M in debt at 4.44% to refinance credit lines

What's the money for? About C$176 million will repay amounts drawn on the Canadian tranche of TSU's syndicated revolving credit facility and associated operating credit facility. Those draws stemmed partly from repaying roughly C$169 million of the company's 3.15% Series 2 notes, which matured on April 6, 2026. The remainder goes to general corporate purposes.

Who is TriSummit? TSU is a North American company with natural gas distribution, transmission, and storage utilities plus renewable power generation assets. It serves about 295,000 customers across Canada and the United States.

The signal: At roughly $144 million, the raise lands in the lower tier by deal size, a modest but routine refinancing that swaps maturing 3.15% debt for a 4.44% coupon — a reminder of how higher rates now reprice even the steady balance sheets of regulated utilities.
