What's the endgame? WildBrain wants to strengthen what it calls its "franchise flywheel" — enabling fan interaction beyond traditional licensing and content. Each character experience becomes a durable, licensable asset that can be built once and deployed anywhere, expanding monetisation into a new interactive category.

The management angle: The acquisition brings Personality AI's operating and technology expertise in-house, and the deal is structured to align its management's interests with WildBrain shareholders. WildBrain expects the business to be EBITDA accretive in fiscal 2027, with recurring revenue and attractive margins.

The signal: Legacy entertainment owners are racing to turn static characters into always-on, AI-driven experiences. By buying rather than building, WildBrain signals that trusted, compliance-certified AI for children is becoming a strategic asset in the licensing ecosystem.
