Sage buys longtime partner Bangert to speed construction ERP rollouts

What's the deal? SageDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired BangertDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a specialist in AI implementation and onboarding for construction financial management. The move folds Bangert's construction expertise, implementation methodology, and onboarding technology into Sage. Terms were not disclosed.

What each side does: Sage sells accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology to businesses. Bangert, a longtime Sage partner, helps construction firms adopt Sage Intacct Construction through its AskRichard platform, which pairs workflows with implementation support.

Why it matters: Construction businesses run projects across entities, subcontractors, suppliers, and job sites, which makes financial software hard to deploy. Sage says the deal gives customers a simpler path to Sage Intacct Construction and helps them move to the cloud with less deployment risk.

What they're saying: "We've worked together successfully for many years, and this acquisition is a natural next step," said Dan Miller, executive vice president of Sage's Financials and ERP Division. It "helps customers get up and running faster and realise value sooner."

What's the endgame? Sage frames the deal as a step in modernising how construction businesses adopt financial management tools. Combining Bangert's AI guidance with its implementation approach builds a foundation for AI-led onboarding, the company said.

Reid Bangert, president of Bangert, said joining Sage lets it "bring that approach to more construction businesses" while continuing to simplify how customers adopt Sage Intacct Construction.

The signal: The deal reflects a wider push among ERP vendors to embed AI and streamline onboarding, a friction point that slows software adoption. By absorbing an implementation partner rather than just its technology, Sage is betting that customer success — not features alone — will decide who wins the construction finance market.
