The funding will support Eyedentity as it develops its technology and business. The relationship with the lead investor began when the team pitched at Karolinska Institutet Innovation InvestorDay earlier this year.

The signal: The round shows how incubators can move science-based startups from lab bench to capital. "The team has developed rapidly during its time in the incubator, made a strong impression at InvestorDay and has now attracted an oversubscribed investment round," said Johan Weigelt, chief executive officer of Karolinska Institutet Innovation.
