Try Dealroom → Growth, its first outside institutional capital since launching in 2020. The San Francisco startup provides healthcare price transparency data, and the deal terms were not disclosed. Rafiq AhmedDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Serif's co-founder and chief executive officer, said the investment will support the company's footprint and product offerings. Shalin Mehta, SEVA's founder and managing partner, joins Serif's board.
What does it do? Serif cleans, validates, and standardises pricing data from hundreds of payers and thousands of hospitals through its Signal platform. More than 250 organisations use it to benchmark rates, evaluate networks, and track market dynamics.
Why now? Federal regulators began requiring hospitals and payers to disclose negotiated rates in 2021. But poor standardisation and errors left much of that data unusable — the gap Serif set out to close.
What's the endgame? The company will use the proceeds to accelerate sales and expand its pipeline of new product features and data APIs. In 2026 it launched Signal Ask, an AI tool that lets users query pricing data in plain language without needing billing codes.
The signal: Price transparency mandates created a flood of messy data, and companies that can turn it into usable intelligence are drawing investor attention. Serif's first institutional round marks a bet that demand for clean healthcare pricing data will keep growing.
