Flip raises $25M Series D to bring AI to deskless workers
What's the deal? Flip, the Stuttgart-founded employee experience platform for frontline workers, has raised a $25 million Series D. Notion Capital and HV Capital increased their stakes, while L-BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? AI is reshaping office work, but for the estimated 80% of the world's workforce that does not sit at a desk, it has barely arrived. Workers in manufacturing, retail, logistics, care, and hospitality often lack the corporate email accounts and digital identity needed to use AI tools — a gap Flip aims to close.
What's the endgame? The money will fund infrastructure to accelerate AI adoption on the frontline, not another app, chief executive officer Benedikt Brand said. His goal: "a world where AI leaves no employee behind."
The product: Flip's expansion centres on Fusion, which generates custom apps for a store, team, or process in real time, cutting the need to buy and customise separate software. A second lever, Frontline Identity, launched in June, lets employees access workplace systems without a corporate email address.
By the numbers: The $25 million round sits near the middle of the pack for deals of its type, landing in the 49th percentile by size. The signal: Investor conviction is building around AI for frontline teams, a category long overshadowed by knowledge-work tools. Notion Capital, which first backed Flip in 2022, said it is "doubling down" on a company it sees playing "a defining role in shaping the category of AI for frontline teams."
