What does it do? Huaxi Future develops photonic materials, focused on the research, production and sales of infrared three-dimensional photonic crystal heating materials.

What it means. Its products target intelligent manufacturing, new energy vehicles, healthcare and consumer electronics, spanning several of China's priority industrial sectors.

The signal. The round is a modest early-stage cheque as deep-tech materials startups build towards commercial production.
