MIC buys MotorcycleIndustryJobs.com to boost powersports hiring

What's the deal? The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired MotorcycleIndustryJobsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.com (MIJ), a powersports employment platform, folding it into the association to strengthen workforce development across the industry. Terms were not disclosed.

What each side brings: MIJ, founded in 2004 by Alex Baylon, connects powersports employers with job seekers through job listings, resume posting, recruiting services, and industry data. MIC is the trade association that now gains a ready-made hiring channel for its members.

Why now? The platform was built to fix a persistent problem: motorcycle industry jobs were often shared only through word-of-mouth or classified ads. That gap remains, with attracting and retaining employees still a key challenge for dealers and other employers.

What changes for users? Little, for now. MIJ's administrative team stays in place, and MIC says users should see no change in service or support.

What's the endgame? MIC wants to link employers with talent while introducing more people to powersports careers. "MIJ gives us a tremendous opportunity to do just that by connecting employers with the people they need," said Christy LaCurelle, MIC president and CEO. Baylon said MIC's resources and reach will let MIJ expand its role in the market.

The signal: The deal reflects how trade groups are moving beyond advocacy into operational tools — here, owning the pipeline that feeds their members' hiring needs.
