What do they do? Overland Park, Kansas-based Acertus runs an automotive logistics platform handling the transportation, storage, maintenance, titling, and registration of finished cars and trucks. Auburn, Massachusetts-based Fisher Shipping, founded in 2006, brings two decades of OEM and dealer relationships.
What changes? Fisher will keep operating under its own banner and leadership. CEO Dave Fisher receives an equity interest in Acertus and will manage customer and commercial relationships for the combined organisation.
What's the endgame? The deal expands Acertus' network of carriers and customers. Fisher gains access to that carrier network and to Acertus' platform, which offers fraud prevention and real-time shipment visibility.
"This acquisition expands our platform and deepens our ability to serve the automotive ecosystem, but more importantly, it brings talented people and trusted partnerships built over two decades," said Acertus chief executive officer Michael DeLuca.

The deal expands Acertus' network and gives Fisher access to a broader carrier network and logistics platform as the vehicle-hauling sector consolidates.
